Plant area assistant (part-time)

At Merryhatton we believe that an experienced, skilled and knowledgeable plant team who have the enthusiasm to share their passion with customers is essential.
If you have a real passion for plants and gardening and the people skills to help our customers, then this could be the job for you!

This part-time position in the plant area involves helping with the general care and maintenance of our plants, assisting customers and working with the team
to present the plant area in an attractive and inspirational way.
Although most of the work will be in the plant area, there may be occasions when you will be helping staff in the indoor shop.

Applicants must be physically fit and enjoy working outdoors.

Although a formal horticultural qualification would be an advantage it is not essential and applications from enthusiastic and hard-working amateur gardeners are welcome.

It is envisaged that the post will be for 4 days per week. Days and hours of work will be by agreement and will include some weekend working.

Cook (full or part-time)

Do your family and friends tell you that you’re a great cook or a wonderful baker?  Have you thought about turning your talent into a career?

Merryhatton’s award-winning cafe is a key part of our 4-star garden centre business and our reputation has been built by providing fresh, good quality food
for breakfasts, light lunches and afternoon teas.
We now require either one full time person, or 2 people each working approximately 20-25 hours per week to join our busy kitchen team.

Hours of work are generally 8am to 4pm,  there are no late evening or split shifts and rotas are published a month in advance.

Wages are negotiable based on skills and experience.

This position would suit a person who is happy in the kitchen and can cook and/or bake good quality produce.
Commercial experience is not essential.  Skills, abilities and attitude are very important and applications from enthusiastic home cooks are welcome.
