Acorn Card Terms and Conditions

Introduction

The “Merryhatton Acorn Card” is the trading name for the loyalty card scheme that rewards cardholders with points redeemable against future purchases when they make qualifying purchases run by Merryhatton Garden Centre (“Merryhatton”).
These terms and conditions (the ‘Conditions’) set out the terms on which you can join, earn and redeem points at Merryhatton. They are also the terms on which Merryhatton can use your personal information.
If you apply to join or use an Acorn Card you automatically accept these Conditions.

Joining and using your Acorn Card

Your name and full postal address must be provided for a Card to be registered. The application form also requests information on date of birth, contact telephone number and an opt-in to receive email marketing material. Applicants must be aged 16 or over and must have a resident UK address. Merryhatton reserves the right to refuse an application at its sole discretion.
Your Acorn Card is issued by, and remains the property of, Merryhatton. It must be returned to Merryhatton on request or destroyed when no longer valid for use. Your Acorn Card is not and must not be used as a credit card, guarantee card or as any other form of security against sums you might owe to third parties.
If you breach these Conditions, or if Merryhatton reasonably believes that you have breached these Conditions, Acorn Cards may be terminated without prior notice.
Merryhatton also reserves the right to: (a) stop issuing Acorn Cards at any time; (b) on notice to you, alter or amend these Conditions of operation of the Acorn Card; and (c) on notice to you, amend, withdraw or cancel the Acorn Cards and/or the points (including the value, redemption and issue of such) and/or terminate the Acorn Card scheme.
You may terminate your Acorn Card at any time in which case all points on the Card shall be lost.
You are responsible for the security of your Acorn Card. If you believe an unauthorised person has compromised the security of the Card by, for example, its theft or the theft of personal information relating to it you should notify Merryhatton immediately. Lost, damaged or stolen Cards can be replaced by Merryhatton. Merryhatton is not responsible for any unauthorised use of the Card.
Any Acorn Card issued is personal to the person whose personal details were submitted on the application form. An Acorn Card and any points on it are non-transferable, and can only be used by the registered cardholder.

Points and reward vouchers

To collect points you must present your Card at the till at the time of purchase.
Points will be awarded on all goods sold in with the exception of gift vouchers and multi-buy offers.
You will receive points on qualifying transactions at Merryhatton including purchases at the Cafe. Points are awarded at a rate of 4 points for every £1.00 spent. These rates can be altered at the discretion Merryhatton on reasonable notice. Merryhatton reserves the right to give such notice via post, email or our website. Merryhatton may also display notices detailing any variation to the points earning ratio .
Merryhatton reserves the right to terminate any points offers at its sole discretion. Merryhatton will give Cardholders as much notice as it reasonably can of any decision to terminate or vary any points offers. Merryhatton reserves the right to give such notice via post, email or our website. Merryhatton may also display notices detailing any termination or variation to any points offers.
Each point has a redemption value of 0.5p against qualifying goods. Merryhatton reserves the right to vary the rates at any time on reasonable notice. All points awarded have no monetary value.
If Merryhatton reasonably suspects abuse, fraud or misconduct in respect of use of the Acorn Card, it may refuse to issue and/or cancel points. You may not rely on any human or software error which results in the award of points to which you are not entitled under these Conditions.

General Terms

Merryhatton may vary these Conditions and will give Acorn Cardholders as much notice as it reasonably can. Merryhatton reserves the right to give such notice via post, email or our website. Merryhatton may also display notices detailing any variations to these Conditions. Earning further points following such variation shall constitute acceptance of the changes Merryhatton makes.
Acorn Cardholders should check our website and specifically these Conditions frequently in order to ensure they are aware of any changes that Merryhatton has made to these Conditions.
